Hugh’s House Announces Charity Partnership with Community Connect - Ireland's Baby Bank.
Posted 20th January 2026 by Robbie Donnelly
Two Irish charities, Community Connect – Ireland’s Baby Bank and Hugh’s House, have come together in a compassionate new partnership to support some of Ireland’s tiniest babies and their families.

Every year, around 4,500 babies are born prematurely in Ireland, that’s one in every sixteen births. Many of these little ones arrive as early as 28 weeks, often weighing less than a kilo, and need specialist, soft, and medical-friendly clothing that can be difficult to find and expensive for families already under immense emotional and financial pressure.

Through this new collaboration, both charities will work hand in hand to collect and distribute preterm baby clothes to families whose babies arrive too soon. The initiative aims to ease the financial strain and bring comfort to parents navigating the challenges of premature birth.

Hugh’s House provides free accommodation for families whose children are receiving long-term or specialist care in CHI Temple Street, The Rotunda, The National Maternity Hospital Holles Street and The Coombe Women & Infants University Hospital. Community Connect, meanwhile, supports families experiencing poverty or hardship during pregnancy and early parenthood by providing essential baby items and care packs through maternity hospitals and community partners nationwide.

Together, these two organisations will ensure that families of premature babies, often facing lengthy hospital stays and unexpected costs, receive tiny preterm clothes and other essential baby items completely free of charge.

“We’re delighted to be partnering with Hugh’s House,” said Lydia O’Reilly, Fundraising Manager of Community Connect. “By working together, we can offer families practical support and reassurance at an incredibly difficult time. Every preterm baby deserves warmth, comfort and dignity, and this partnership helps us provide that support in a meaningful way.”

Robbie Donnelly, Fundraising & Marketing Manager of Hugh’s House, added:
“At Hugh’s House, we see firsthand the emotional and financial strain that families face when their babies arrive too soon. Partnering with Community Connect allows us to extend our support beyond accommodation, ensuring parents have one less worry at such a difficult time. Together, we’re helping families stay close, feel cared for, and focus on what truly matters, their little ones’ recovery.”

The charities are calling on the Irish public, community groups, and businesses to get involved by donating new or gently used preterm baby clothes (sizes up to 5lbs / 2.2kg). Donations can be dropped off at Hugh’s House in Dublin 1 or through Community Connect’s network of collection partners nationwide.

This partnership celebrates the strength of Ireland’s community spirit and a shared belief that no family should face the challenges of premature birth alone. Together, we can ensure every premature baby receives a warm, safe start in life.

Hugh’s House Announces Charity Partnership with The Croke Park Hotel.
Posted 16th January 2026 by Robbie Donnelly
Hugh’s House is delighted to announce a new partnership with The Croke Park hotel, marking an important collaboration that will support families during some of the most challenging times of their lives, while also championing sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Hugh’s House provides accommodation and support for families who need to be close to their loved ones receiving critical care in hospital. This new partnership reflects a shared commitment between Hugh’s House and The Croke Park to compassion, community, and meaningful social impact.

Through this charity partnership, The Croke Park will support Hugh’s House through a combination of fundraising, awareness-raising, staff volunteering initiatives, and a joint sustainability programme. As part of this initiative, the hotel will donate high-quality furniture for use in Hugh’s House rooms once it has completed its lifecycle within the hotel, ensuring items are reused responsibly and sustainably rather than going to waste.

This approach not only enhances the comfort and quality of accommodation provided to families staying at Hugh’s House, but also supports a circular economy model by extending the life of furniture and reducing environmental impact.

Speaking about the partnership, Robbie Donnelly, Fundraising and Marketing Manager at Hugh’s House, said:
“We are absolutely thrilled that The Croke Park hotel has chosen Hugh’s House as their charity partner for 2026. Their support will make a real and tangible difference to the families who rely on Hugh’s House during incredibly difficult moments. The sustainability element of this partnership is particularly important to us, as it allows us to improve our accommodation while also being environmentally responsible.”

Sean Reid, General Manager at The Croke Park hotel, added:
“At The Croke Park , community and sustainability are central to how we operate. We are proud to support Hugh’s House through a programme that not only supports families in need but also ensures that quality furniture is reused in a meaningful and environmentally conscious way.”

The partnership will include a range of initiatives throughout the year, including staff fundraising events, volunteer days, sustainability-led projects, and awareness campaigns, helping to shine a light on the essential services provided by Hugh’s House.

Hugh’s House relies heavily on the generosity of the community and corporate partners to continue its work. Partnerships such as this one with The Croke Park hotel play a crucial role in ensuring families are supported at a time when they need it most.

Posted 6th November 2025 by Robbie Donnelly
Hugh’s House is delighted to announce Sensori, a global leader in mission-critical Data Centres, MEP services, and facilities management, as our Charity Partner for 2026.

This exciting partnership will see Sensori employees across Ireland come together to raise vital funds and awareness for Hugh’s House, helping us continue to support families with seriously ill children who must travel to Dublin for hospital care.

Hugh’s House provides free accommodation to families while their children are inpatients at Temple Street, the Rotunda, the Coombe, and Holles Street hospitals. Our mission is simple, to ease the financial and emotional burden families face during some of the most difficult moments of their lives by offering a safe, welcoming home near the hospital.

Founded by Ade Stack and her partner, Marty Curley, after the loss of their son, Hugh, in 2013, Hugh’s House opened its doors in 2015. Since then, we have provided over 1,000 families with a place to stay, 365 days a year, completely free of charge.

Through this year-long partnership, Sensori will support our work through fundraising events, employee volunteering, and awareness initiatives taking place throughout 2026, helping us reach even more families in need.

Lynn Lambe, Communications Manager at Sensori, shared:
“At Sensori, we believe in supporting causes that have a direct, positive impact on families and communities. Hugh’s House provides an incredible service, giving parents a place of comfort and care when they need it most, which we saw first-hand when we met Ade and Robbie. We’re honoured to partner with such a compassionate organisation for 2026, and we look forward to working together to make a difference for families across Ireland who so desperately rely on this incredible charity and the phenomenal work they do, with no government support or funding.”

Robbie Donnelly, Head of Fundraising at Hugh’s House, added:
“We are absolutely thrilled to have Sensori as our charity partner for 2026. Partnerships like this make it possible for us to continue providing free accommodation to families whose children are receiving hospital care. The support from Sensori’s team will help us reach more families and ensure they have a place to call home during incredibly difficult times. Lachlan's Journey
Posted 22nd September 2025 by Robbie Donnelly
Massive Congratulations to Lyndon Jones, who last week completed his 270km walk from his home in Westport to Temple Street Children’s Hospital in Dublin, and so far has raised over €40,000!

Joined by his brother-in-law Cathal for the full journey. Michelle his wife, and other family and friends, they wlaked into Hugh's House at midday last Monday, ending Lauchlan's Journey.

This journey was deeply personal, in memory of their beautiful baby boy, Lachlan, who sadly passed away at just 12 weeks old.

Lyndon took on this walk to raise funds for both the Children's Health Foundation and Hugh's House, so other families can receive the same care and support that they did. This fundraiser was their way of honouring Lachlan’s memory and giving something back to those who helped them through the hardest time of their lives.
A visit from Nuvaila
Posted 13th June 2025 by Robbie Donnelly
We were only thrilled to have the lovely bunch from Nuvaila in with us yesterday at Hugh’s House. They kindly gave up their own time to help us out with a few bits and pieces around the place — and fair play to them, they got stuck in from the word go!

It means the world to us to have people like that lending a hand. It’s support like this that helps us keep Hugh’s House feeling like home for the families who stay with us.

To everyone at Nuvaila — thanks a million. You’ve no idea how much your kindness means to us.
Become a Hugh's House Garden Guardian
Posted on 1st June 2025 by Robbie Donnelly
The Hugh’s House Garden is a peaceful space where families can take a breath of fresh air, find a moment of calm, and let children play safely away from the hospital setting. It’s a place filled with laughter, reflection, and the simple joy of nature—but it needs a little help to stay that way. We’re currently looking for volunteers to help keep the garden clean, tidy, and welcoming for everyone who visits. Whether you have green fingers or just a willing heart, your time and effort will make a real difference. If you’d like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you!
