Hugh’s House receives no government funding, which makes donations absolutely vital to our work. We provide free, safe, and supportive accommodation for families whose children are in hospital in Dublin, often for weeks or even months at a time. Without the generosity of the public, we simply couldn’t keep our doors open. Every euro donated helps us cover essential costs like electricity, heating, food, and maintenance—ensuring families have one less thing to worry about during an incredibly stressful time..

When a child is sick, being close to them matters. Hugh’s House allows parents and siblings to stay nearby without the crushing burden of hotel bills or long commutes. Donations make this possible. They provide warmth, comfort, and community to families going through unimaginable challenges. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, helps us continue our mission of keeping families together—and offering them a home away from home when they need it most.

Every donation makes a difference: €10 can provide toiletries and essentials for a parent who had to leave home in a hurry; €25 can stock a kitchen with fresh food for a family staying overnight; €50 helps us offer clean bedding, towels, and laundry supplies; and €100 can sponsor a family’s stay for one night, giving them a safe place to sleep just minutes from their child’s hospital bed.
